CHRISTUS MUGUERZA Group is one of the largest Health Care Systems in the country. It is composed by eight hospitals, one Outpatient Services Unit, 20 Medical Treatment Centers, 3 Rehabilitation and Therapy Centers, four Social Work Clinics and the fastest and most sophisticated Ambulance System in the country. In 2001 it became affiliated to CHRISTUS HEALTH, one of the top 10 Catholic healthcare systems in the United States, since 2001.

The hospitals in Monterrey, as a whole, are prepared to care for and treat all of the medical specialties and subspecialties. 

For Cardiology: the Hospital Alta Especialidad, as a result of its highly trained physicians’ team and the most sophisticated technology, has maintained its leadership in diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary illness. 

This hospital’s Oncology department recently implemented intensity modulated radiation therapy. Implementation of this technique makes us the first and only healthcare system offering the full range of the current radiation therapies for treating cancer. 

Likewise, we are highly trained for High Risk Pregnancies and Neonatal Care. We have achieved the highest survival rate worldwide for babies born weighing less than one kilogram. 

Technology

CHRISTUS MUGUERZA Group has highly sophisticated imaging equipment offering high quality images and therefore greater safety and precision in the interpretation of results. 

For cancer treatment and any other type of sicknesses, the Hospital Alta Especialidad has equipment such as:

• Elekta Synergy® Linear Accelerator: with the highest doses of radiation which reaches extremely small tumors without damaging the surrounding healthy tissues.
• CyberKnife: a frameless robotic radiosurgery system used for treating benign tumors and other medical conditions previously diagnosed as untreatable or high risk operations. The Hospital Alta Especialidad is the only private Hospital in Mexico offering this service. 

The Main Clinical Laboratory which services all four hospitals is certified by the College of American Pathologists. It is equipped with robotic technology which makes for more efficient surgeries and reduces sampling errors. As a result of the implementation of identification of nucleic acids technique, which identifies HIV virus and Hepatitis B and C in blood donors, it now provides patients with the most trustable blood in the region.
